Live from UCI it’s “Adventures in Physics” AND This State of This Union

“Adventures in Physics: Quantam Circuits” returns to UCI this January 31st from 1-3 pm at the Physical Sciences Lecture Hall (PSLH ) 100. In tribute to John Rosendahl’s memory, UCI physics professor Bill Heidbrink and John’s surviving wife Linda Halopoff talk about this well institutionalized physics demonstration and lecture. With their collaboration, John Rosendahl, UCI’s physical sciences instructional programs director, hatched this exciting physics show, in 1987. Information about this event is available at: http://ps.uci.edu/events/8474.

One day after this year’s commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., UCI political science professor Davin Phoenix and 3rd year poli sci major Parshan Khosravi take up the professor’s research on minority executive models, from the mayoral to the presidential level in the U.S. This research anticipates the cases that President Obama will make in his State of the Union address tonight. The next course that Professor Phoenix will be teaching is, this spring quarter, “Urban Politics.”
