Secrets, Dyes, and Video Takes

Author/illustrator, Ricardo Cortes talks about his latest book: “A Secret History of Coffee, Coca and Cola.” Other titles for which he’s sketched include: “Its Just a Plant, a children’s story of marijuana,” “Go the F*** to Sleep,” Adam Mansbach’s bedtime story for adults, and the G-rated follow-up “Seriously, Just Go to Sleep.” “Yes, I can!” The Story of the Jamaican Bobsled Team, and “I Don’t Want To Blow You Up!,” a coloring book covering famous Muslims who are not terrorists. Coffee.Coca.Cola.com and akashikbooks.com are founts of more information. Congratulations are due the guests in the second half of the show, for their students were successful in winning the California regional in the Vans Competition: University High School fine arts teachers Hali Kessler and Dana Kramer. On the show they also covered the extensive range of art media done by their students along with others from around Orange County currently on exhibit at the Irvine Fine Arts Center entitled 1,000 Words, already open this week.
