“Open Wound” AND Opening Up

University of Pennsylvania physician, researcher, and bio-ethicist, Dr. Jason Karlawish, talks about his wonderful piece of historical fiction entitled, “Open Wound; The Tragic Obsession of Dr. William Beaumont,” published by the University of Michigan Press.  Based on a true story, his novel will be the platform from which we cover medical research values from the 19th century to the present. UCI Drama professor Dr. Daphne Lei presents an upcoming production to be staged May 4th and 5th at the Winifred Smith Hall at UCI, entitled “¡Diversi…Qué? ” It is an original play researched, adapted, written, and performed by UCI Drama students, now the 3rd annual event of this stellar project.
